After the Bakoudou mine in Gabon was depleted in 2017, Managem launched an eco-responsible closure plan. Since 2018, the site has been undergoing land and biodiversity restoration, with replanting aligned to the local climate and native species. The project involves botanists, landscape experts, and local communities, creating jobs and promoting sustainable development.
Managem is a pan-African mining group operating in 7 countries, focused on cobalt, copper, zinc, silver, and gold. With a workforce of over 5,000 employees from 22 nationalities, the company manages 13 mining operations across the continent.
