AngloGold Ashanti, a leading gold mining company from South Africa, has taken a major step toward reducing carbon emissions by partnering with Pacific Energy to use renewable energy at the Tropicana mine in Australia. The project includes the construction and operation of wind and solar installations with a combined capacity of 62 MW. As a result, the mine’s energy-related emissions will be reduced by 48%.
